Ignorance ftw. I am just kidding btw.

One thing that bother me which I mentioned before is the level that you found in scarred earth.

Well i personally made the Thread for some ideas and comments on betting arena and hohguild rank system and stuff like that . Instead of arguing on what different poeple think about different skills. The main point of interest is over looked.see there is a character name for every player. if you want to discuss something small and unwanted eg ." sb is good or bad nowdays" you can just pm him or make new thread instead no offence but lets keep not try to get the thread closed becuase some people like to talk about unwanted matter. There is a lot of interesting topics to talk about in the frst post I made.

Default HOH - Views from a R3..Struggling for More!!

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but searched and viewed and other than a new thread, this seemed the best spot.

Background: 5 Lvl20s; 1 KOABD+2; not in a guild (probably a error but...); and, R3 (40 from R4).

Did HOH several months ago but quit because just got tired of sitting around for hours and hours; finally getting on a team; then getting murdered by a team of R12s.

After getting my characters through Nightfall, I decided to give HOH another try. And, find the same problem. I understand folks with higher rank not wanting to join a team of 'noobs'. And, I do not blame them at all for wanting to 'team up' with others of similar rank. But for us others, there is just not enough return on the time invested (some of us are just stubborn enough to gut it out I suppose). But ss it now stands, HOH is a very 'beginner' hostile environment. To change that AND not reduce the level of play should be the goal.

So, how to fix? To me, solution is simple -- two or three levels of HOH. Rank 20 is nothing in PVP -- Im a very good PVE player but my PVP needs alot of work. So, having only one HOH for all players is discouraging to say the least. So, why not divide the games up. Have one 'elite' level; say R10 and above... another level for those R5-9; and, an entry level for those R1-4. That way, teams would face teams on a somewhat more equal footing. Of course, to 'sweeten' the pot, drops for each level could be adjusted to encourage people to play at those levels. Say, elemental swords ONLY drop for the top two levels or some such.

Some will not like this, the idea of encouraging people to develop their pvp skills; enhance their ability to work in that environement; and, maybe -- over time -- develop a better GW playing base, is something some folks do not want to see happen.

Also, the higher ranks could -- probably justifiably -- complain there are not enough people playing at a time at their rank to give them enough games. Of course, as people continued to play and gain fame, that would begin to change.

Anyway, just a suggestion. Maybe something ANET could try for a weekend and see if the response was positive or negative. Again, if this is the wrong place to post this I apologize.

Cheers and good hunting.

Default Arena

Have you try arenas from different towns? Droknars, Lion's Arch, Shing Jea Monstery, etc. These have level restriction.
Have you try Random Arena?
Have you try Team Arena?

I think Anet did thought of that and try to balance the game through the arena in different town, try it, it's fun.

First of all, great post Altar. I agree with all of your ideas, except for the idea that spike is absent from 6v6. Now I know this is a special case that will most likely be balanced soon, Rit spike still works very well in 6v6. I played it a little bit (I know, may god strike me with lightning or w/e) but we held halls 3 times and basically beat any team we faced. However, I agree that spikes have been a vital part of HA since the start (air spike, blood spike, rit spike, ranger spike).

The spike part of the game is not gone. Ranger Spike still works quite nicely, got to Halls today with it. Got rolled by a couple of Burst Of Agression assassins and some starburst eles, tho.

Now with 6 vs 6 the spike part of the game is gone . no one takes infuse anymore no more sb and it is easy to hold with wards and defensive spirits which was not possible in the days we had spikes .

Wow you are highly delusional.... Almost all the monks I know including me still take INFUSE. And it isn't easy to hold with wards.. Do you HA enough to see all the expose defense sins??? With expose defense wards cant save you anymore. And the whole defensive spirit thing has died down a LONG time ago.
